“Chrissy” came to STARR in January 2024 after completing several months at the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. Although she was behind on a few school credits, she was determined to catch up and graduate early. Through hard work and dedication, she earned enough credits to be classified as a senior and soon secured a job at a fast food restaurant.

In May 2024, she proudly graduated from High School. Shortly after, she applied to and was accepted to a College in Corsicana, Texas. Now in her sophomore year, “Chrissy” lives on campus and works part-time. She is majoring in General Studies and plans to continue her education at a Culinary Arts School. Although she came to STARR feeling broken and uncertain, today she shines brightly—moving forward with confidence, resilience, and purpose.
